Why do people want her to be an Equalist? That kind of twist is fucking old and frankly, I'm sick of that shit.

I'd prefer if she was the awesome non-bender of the group like what Sokka was in the first series. Basically, I want her to be what Elizabeth is in the Black Butler manga: someone who doesn't really fight, but once she has to protect someone she loves, she's a bad ass.

Maybe I'm just having too much fun speculating, but I'm thinking/hoping her dad could be up to something she won't exactly agree with. Her turning out to be an equalist spy would be too cliche for me too.

Yes. It would be one thing if her dad was up to something, but Asami herself, no, just no. But if her dad was up to something... why would he sponsor the Fire Ferrets?

Idk, but I tend to link him more with what's-his-name, the pushy politician, than with the equalists. And then there's that conversation he had with Mako where he talked about someone else helping him realize his dreams right before he agreed to sponsor them last week. Seeing that person pop up at some point would be interesting too.

I think that this might be the case. Apparently somewhere it was said that she's skilled in hand-to-hand combat (old Bryke interview maybe?) so if she is she was probably trained by the best money can buy. I'd like her to become a fixture in the Krrew and maybe in the future even save their bending asses.
