She's... alright. I don't hate her, but I can see why the fandom does (not that it justifies the amount of bile the fandom produces against her).

All I can say is that I'm patiently waiting to see her surprise us. Knowing Bryke and the writing team, she's got something special in her. It'll just come out in the last five minutes of an episode and CLIFFHANGER TEASE US until the next week~

I just watched the available episodes of Korra for the first time with my sister yesterday and I swear, with the new episode, if shippers should be mad at anyone it's Mako.

I like her just fine, though.

Personally, I'm hoping it'll turn out she's being completely straight with Mako. Her turning out to be an equalist/some other kind of bad guy would be too obvious.

I like her, mostly because a) it's nice to see an apparently totally normal relationship for once and b) she's really hot and I'm shallow. :3

Just to be the voice of dissent here, I really hope she's not an Equalist. Introducing a dark, attractive, more feminine foil to the heroine and then she turns out to be a villain, or manipulative, or otherwise be a rival outside of romance? It's pretty cliché, and I don't really care for the implications.

I dislike her not because of Makorra (I honestly don't ship anything in ATLOK at this point), but because she feels so one-dimensional. I like the idea of her being an Equalist or at least doing something other than being Mako's disposable love interest.

I think Asami's pretty bland right now. And I think Mako's really bland too, so I guess they make a good couple... in a very bland way =P

Asami should be an euqalist, it'd make her 10 times more interesting!

Why do people want her to be an Equalist? That kind of twist is fucking old and frankly, I'm sick of that shit.

I'd prefer if she was the awesome non-bender of the group like what Sokka was in the first series. Basically, I want her to be what Elizabeth is in the Black Butler manga: someone who doesn't really fight, but once she has to protect someone she loves, she's a bad ass.

I'm intrigued by Asami, but I'd like her to be more complex than an Equalist spy. Specifically, I'd like her to be an Equalist-sympathizer, to a limited degree. I'd like her to play the role of the more-reasonable voice for non-bender equality, in contrast to the extremist terrorism of the Equalists. I think she's the perfect person for it (charismatic socialite whose fortune comes from non-bending industry) and I think Bryke could really pull off something interesting with that.

I like that she's friendly, because characters with her type of design almost always have a snobby/snarky/aloof personality, no matter what their role is -- hero, villain, grey-area, etc. But besides the deviation from her character design, I don't find her very interesting so far. I hope she gets more depth without the personality we see her with now turning out to be fake.

I fucking swooned off my bed when she was introduced. I was so happy that she was nice, I think because she kinda reminded me of Jun and since she's rich I expected her to be snobby? I was hoping Korra would meet her first and they'd become bffs, but since that's not gonna happen I want something cute like this (http://minuiko.tumblr.com/post/22242000409/how-asami-won-korra-over) to happen.

I'm not sure why'd she be an equalist though. If she is, I hope she's not an extremist and also knows chi-blocking. Maybe she'll be the one to show Korra that non-benders do have a disadvantage against benders, and that chi-blocking could be taught as a non-violent form of self-defense for them.

I want her to be an Equalist so badly. I want her to be this season's Zuko where she starts out evil but then along the way she realizes that Amon is evil, turns good and becomes Korra's BFF. And then we can have all these lovely h/c fics between the two where Asami angst over the things she did to Korra and Korra's like "I don't care" because she's the avatar and learned about forgiveness from Aang.

I'm wondering how it would play out if she's secretly an equalist too, although thus far she looks like a big bending fan, and even though Korra/Mako gives me thrills, it's always something seeing 'Batman' find his Catwoman. It would be interesting to see where her sympathies fall as things develop.

WHY IS EVERYONE SAYING THAT IF ASAMI WAS AN EQUALIST SHE'D BE A VILLAIN? Amon might be a villain, but DUDE HAS A POINT. And a lot of those people seemed like they were practicing self defense.
