Bones wasn't childfree? I seem to remember her mentioning at least two or three seasons ago that she eventually wanted to have kids to pass on her genius or something like that. I mean, it's not like the show is now exclusively about Christine. They're still finding bodies and the other characters still have storylines (liked the one with Cam and her daughter, and Hodgins and his lab toys)

She was very adamantly against kids in the first seasons, up to the point of vocally saying it out loud a few times. There's even an episode where she and Booth are stuck with a baby and she is obviously uneasy about it. Even when Angela is pregnant, her reluctance about babies is showing, with her mentioning something along the lines of how it takes over your life in a negative way.

So yeah, as someone who doesn't want kids - I do feel like they "retconned" the character and the show is now babies, babies, babies! (Though I must admit I'm only like halfway the season). But I totally see where OP is coming from. It bothers me too.

I realize some people change their minds, but it feels quite forced in her case.
