That would be great from an angst perspective, but the unrequited!love fics I've always found seem horribly out of character. Fine if that's what you want to read, but I seriously doubt that, say, Spock would react to a love confession by spreading vicious rumors around Enterprise or something. Secret unrequited love tends to be better.

(We're not going to address the whole "slash is out of character!" argument, because it's stupid and not relevant. Just trust me when I say "out of character.")

Oh, yeah. (I'm Trek anon above.) A couple of the "happy ending" fics I've read are barely in character. I think a lot of writers don't know how to write unrequited love without making someone act like a mewling crybaby (the one in love) or a viscous, raging dick (the person desired). Spock might be a considered a dick because he spurns Kirk's attempts at friendship and love, but he wouldn't, like you said, spread rumors or tease him or something like that.

I think peopole mistaking viscous for vicious is probably my favourite typo ever. (And I don't mean this maliciously, but simply for the hilarity the mental image brings me.)

LOL! It's more like we can't spell and we are quickly autocorrecting to whatever looks close because we are supposed to be working instead of fucking around on our phones. *shifty eyes*

But dude. A viscous raging dick. Sounds like the best alien-peen I've ever heard of. XD

Sounds like something from Oglaf. (If you don't know what Oglaf is, it's a very NSFW wacky fantasy parody webcomic. The latest one involves a guy with a cock for a head and vice versa.)
