I know folks who make tons of adult jokes practically by default during conversation, but they'd feel uncomfortable with mid-teen or younger kids hearing them, nm directing innuendolicious comments at them by accident. Online doesn't have to be any different; if it makes someone feel more comfortable with their own journal space and whom they can freely talk to to exclude minors from the conversation, why not? Is it much different from a kid blocking/unfriending, etc. their parents or anyone older than them from their sites?

I don't know what op of this thread has said/done, but I think the basic point still stands... there are some things that I had felt comfortable talking or joking about as a minor to someone older or potentially older that I didn't know that I wouldn't feel comfortable talking or joking about now as an adult with a minor that I didn't know. Younger-me would probably look askance at current-me (and I would rather have a "clean" journal to accept all-ages than block/defriend/unfollow without saying anything), but I think there's a difference between changing one's mind over time and being hypocritical.

(Apologies if I have totally misinterpreted things or if this is something you'd rather not have an anon comment on.)
