Glad I don't have that problem.

Seriously, I'm waaaaay more bothered by plotholes and inconsistant behavior than I am by grammar or spelling. So long as there's something to uncover that's worth the work of translating to normal English, I'm good to go.

This pretty much.

*shrug* I'm the total opposite, then. Because writing is like any other art; presentation isn't everything, but it is significant, and it speaks more to the artist's attitude than anything. Mechanics that are bad enough to impede communication tell me that the author doesn't care one whit about their work. And if they don't give enough of a shit to make it at least readable, then I don't care enough to try and decipher it.

See, that's where we differ as well. I don't care what the author's attitude is. I'm reading for me not for the author. I'm not going to back out of a fic that really excites me just because I have to put a little work in. And I'm not going to hang around to read a fic that bores me no matter how the writer works on it's presentation.

I'm certainly not going to use the writer's opinion of their fic to make my opinion. A lot of very tedious writers have very high opinions of their fics, a lot of very talented authors have very low opinions. And grammar and spelling are not equally easy to do for all writers. I can judge for myself what errors are worth overlooking.
