there's a reason i don't usually read fic for a reason :( i've been desperate lately though, even started writing my own. i happen to like that there's so much bad fic out there, because if it was all good i'd be too embarrassed to post my own. at least i know it's not the worst out there.

It's irritating for an ESL reader to find out the author is from an English-speaking country, and they can't tell the difference between "your" and "you're", "where" and "were", etc.

It helps to copy the fic into a word doc to correct the grammar. I also do this with reality television. I mean how hard is it to remember to add an "ly" to adverb?. It is two extra letters, people!

Seriously, I'm waaaaay more bothered by plotholes and inconsistant behavior than I am by grammar or spelling. So long as there's something to uncover that's worth the work of translating to normal English, I'm good to go.
