Anon, I did the same thing since about the age of 10. It started out as a way to protect myself from those internet stalkers everyone was talking about but then I noticed it made it easier for me to participate in fandom because people took me seriously if they thought I was older. So I totally get it. If you come clean on your 18th birthday, that should avoid a lot of the weirdness because they're already used to you being an "adult" - that's what happened for me. But then I had some pretty awesome fandom friends. :)
