So I can see that I'm about to state a very unpopular opinion, but I don't think he's so bad. As far as the secret being upset that he hasn't addressed any of these rumors, he did at a panel I went to.The first rumor he addressed was people saying he yells at his yaoi fans. I can remember this quote because he said it like 3 times: "I'm not a fan of yaoi, but I do love my yaoi fans." He never said anything rude or homophobic sounding. I don't think disliking yaoi immediately means you hate all gay people. He also talked about never sleeping with an under-aged fan, I don't really remember what he said about it, but the point is he brought it up.
As far as his religion goes, ya he's a strong believer, but is that really so bad? If you peel back all of the rumors then I don't think he's really done anything terrible with his views. During the panel he didn't say anything about religion accept that he would be leading a prayer Sunday morning for anyone who was interested. I went to a Chris Patton panel where he spent roughly 30 minutes talking about his religious views with one person in the crowd. Which honestly I think is fine (although it did get kind of boring), but I wonder if his views had been Christian if people would have had a bigger problem with it? I feel like there's this stereotype of Christians being super closed minded that makes people dislike them. And there are Christians like that, which is sad because that's not what the religion is about "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" some Christians truly believe that but get lumped in with the closed minded ones.
Sorry for the tangent, I guess all I am trying to say is I'm not going to believe the rumors about him until I get to see proof with my own eyes, ya know?

ok, so my panel comment was sort of made moot by the point above, lol, but I stick to my religious opinions and I'm still a little iffy. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying anything against the comment above, just that I'll still be wary until I'm in a position to judge for myself ^^

It's not at all about him being religious, though I really don't think religion and cons have much bearing on each other, as I've heard he tried to. It's about the fact that as far as I can make out he's said some publically quite upsetting things abuot gay characters, but he keeps getting LGBT roles. I'm really not okay with the way he spoke about Fai from Tsubasa, who's a character I really love and respect, and just no way heterosexual.

Sorry if I made you think that I didn't respect your religion. I'm much more concerned about VM trying to bring religion to a neutral place, and putting down some of the few interesting positive role models that his LGBT fans might have.
