Can I ask a non fandom related question? Is that okay? I'm going to be in London on Sunday from 7am. None of the places I want to go will be open until 10 and I'm not sure how early I'll be able to get a travelcard for the underground, SO. Does anyone know of anything interesting to see around Victoria Station that will be open to the public? How about somewhere I could go to get out of the rain - if it rains? I'm an art student, so somewhere I could sit down and draw for an hour or two would be ideal.

I don't know what'll be open first thing, but Buckingham Palace is very close to the station, and Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament aren't much further if you fancy some bog standard sight seeing.

If all else fails there's a food court above Victoria Station where you can sit to keep out of the cold/rain.

If you or anyone you know in LJ fandom writes poetry, take a look at this. A person writing under the name Ven Findlay is lifting poetry from people and getting it published. This person has directly plagiarized from at least two three of us in fandom; there are bound to be more.

I'm a prolific poet in and out of fandom and have been for years. It doesn't look like any of my poetry was stolen (unless the titles were changed on ones not visible in the preview), but MOTHERFUCKER why did this douchenozzle have to be the only other living person I have ever encountered who shares my name?? That really fucking annoys me. It better not be something I have to deal with when I publish my own book of poems. I will be FUCKING PISSED.

I wanted to buy one of their books as a show of support, since they're handling this nicely (which seems to happen depressingly rarely until there's a huge fuss about it when a story like this pops up in fandom circles).
