Funny thing is, I suspect that analogy is true. I mean, some of their lyrics you just know had to come from something, and are bizarre, but... how did they get there?

I'm not sure how long it would have taken me to figure out what was going on with "Mr. Tambo" and "Urine Man" in Weep Day if it hadn't been mentioned... I think in the liner notes or something. Cracked me the heck up, though, and made me think my theory that the Johns just write songs about any weird random observation that amuses them must be correct.

I think it's true, too. It's really hard to gather any deeper meanings from a lot of their songs! it just seems like a lot of the time they really are just catchy, witty words. They have to have a reason for being there, they just... "don't set up the joke" in terms of this secret, lol.

Now I should go look that up, I don't know if I have or not. I personally really love all the bonus tracks on Then: The Earlier Years. I think Kitten Intro is one of my favorites even!
