Notes:

If you or anyone you know in fandom writes poetry, check this out. You may be being plagiarized. Note: Please do NOT hassle the publishing company itself. They've agreed to pull the book; we're waiting for it to come down from all the eBook sites. We still don't know the entire contents of the book, though - or who else has been stolen from (there is a clear fandom-author connection, however).

I could legit argue point by point with this secret. Fuck it, what else have I got to do right now

-girls getting sodomized? When?

-the words "character assassinate" and "Joffrey" do not go together. There is no Moral Event Horizon I could not see him cross, any worse thing perpetuated by anyone ELSE in the series would be matched by him if he thought of it. They're just writing more scenes of Joffrey being Joffrey. The only reason to be mad about it is if it's super important to you that Cersei be the one to hunt down Robert's bastards, but though at first I was confused about that I realized that having Joffrey do it gives Cersei a parallel with Catelyn, of all people, in this my-son-is-getting-out-of-my-control kind of way

-VAGUE SPOILERS FOR A STORM OF SWORDS: I'm pretttty sure the girl Oona Chaplin's playing is Jeyne, fake-naming it up with a fake background (Volantis is way outside of that war, and the Westerlings are on the opposite side to Robb so why would she tell him the truth about herself when she barely knows him?) If so, they ARE changing the way their relationship went in the book, developing it, developing her, banter, longing, etc. Probably cause they want to make him less of an idiot (basically) because that won't fly as well with him being 18-ish in the show as opposed to the 15-year-old he was in the book. They're making it ~love~ which makes it even more tragic than just being a couple of teenagers

-I don't see how Mormont's an asshole. He's always been written as a hard (but honourable) man and Jon's a headstrong kid

-actually dying at "STOP DEVELOPING MARGAERY YOU GUYS." Out of curiosity, were you pissed off last season when they started writing in scenes for Loras and Renly that gave them layers we've NEVER seen from them in the book? Or is that okay cause they're dudes and they're gay? Cause clearly the girl who's the sister of one half of a gay couple and married to the other (and who will soon become a recurring character apart from either of them) is a voice we couldn't POSSIBLY benefit from hearing for herself, right?

and Brienne is being developed pretty well. What we have of her so far seems to be what we had of her at this point in the book. She gets more levels in the third and we're not there yet, so idk man.

And no, season 2 has 10 episodes to tell MOST of the second book; they're splitting the third book into 2 seasons because it's long and plotty as hell. So they're saving a few things from the second book to fill out the third season (like the Reeds) - I wouldn't have done that if I were adapting, but I'm not and it's what they're doing, so this is why some things are gonna show up a little later. Cool your jets :D we'll get there

I'd argue that it's more tragic for all of those horrible events to happen because a couple of teenagers made a stupid mistake, rather than being the consequences of following your ~true love~.

As for Margaery, I liked the mysterious air about her in the books. Even has of book 5, we still don't know how much of Cersei's wild assumptions about her are true (if any). The show is basically throwing all subtlety concerning Margaery out the window. Which isn't the end of the world, no, but I don't favor it.

ehhhhh it's definitely arguable, but to me, when shit is OBVIOUSLY traceable back to a stupid decision, it's tragic yeah but also annoying. Like Ned. I love Ned but Robb didn't exactly inherit the skills needed to navigate the politics of Westeros from his dad. What wound up happening seemed like a very unfortunate full-circle (also, I really REALLY love Cat, so the fact that he just refused to listen to her did not help). In any case though I see how they'd want to make it Something Worth Fighting For in the show. It's a fairly unsentimental series but some things are just more cinematic than others

and okay, I feel that. I like what they're doing with her and I like that they had the balls to do it, but if you're really into her shroud of mystery then I can see how that part of the show doesn't work for you.
