Jumping on anyone in the fandom who just finds Asami okay or boring by calling them a misogynist is misguided, and yes, very obnoxious. Misogyny =/= someone in fandom who isn't an Asami fan yet.

I'm taking about the haters tbh, not the people who don't curr about her. Lets be honest, most people who hate her are the ones who are butthurt about her being with Mako.

Not everyone in fandom is like you though. I've seen people generalize and call anyone who doesn't adore Asami a misogynist. Or say to people who are indifferent to her, "WELL I LOVE HER, SO DEAL WITH IT!"

Okay? Do you want a gold star for that?

I don't understand the hate or love either! I just kinda feel indifferent to her. I hope there will be an actual plot point involved with her at some point, then I'll start forming an opinion on her!

^ This exactly. I'm curious about her family/connections/etc but since she's had less than ten minutes of not consecutive screen time, it's hard to find enough hate about her so far EXCEPT

I kind of agree. I like her well enough, but she hasn't been on screen much at all.

Although her hardcore haters are IMO a bit more ridiculous.

I don't dislike her, but she's pretty much just there, at the mo. I think she has a role to play, it's just not time for her to take to the stage yet.

Fandom is always quick to hate a pretty girl, when she is omg COMPETITION with the lead female.

From what little we've seen, Asami seems better for Mako anyway, because she actually seems to behave like an adult. Korra is an immature brat, I don't want her with anyone until she grows the hell up.

This. I love Korra but she needs to grow the fuck up.

The haters and lovers of this character are equally annoying to me. Though TBH 99.8% of what I see is people COMPLAINING about the COMPLAINING. I haven't actually seen much original complaining. So.

Yesterdayish on tumblr, a bunch of people on my dash started making these weird posts about how ~oh no, there is a ship war in their fandom, what do they do~. I checked their tag looking for some juicy drama, and it turns out there were like, less than five people being butts to each other about shipping... and then hundreds of posts where people got all emotional about the ship war and how everybody didn't love each other anymore and blah, blah, blah.

If you're going to complain, people, at least make it interesting, you know?

I don't hate her or love her, I just don't trust her. I think she's with Amon or something. She's too good and it's all too simply around her... something evil must be there.

Yeah, I...really have no strong feelings either way for her. I'm concerned she's just there to be Mako arm candy, and a plot device, but we'll see.

Asami's a little too good to be true right now, but she also hasn't been around long enough to give her any development. I still think the haters are more obnoxious than the lovers, but both baffle me a little.

But seriously, what I want to know most is: where is the Korra/Asami shipping? Because if we're going to love her based on like thirty seconds total, might as well start femslashing! :D

Exactly. I don't understand the squealing Asami fangirls. They're just being reactionary. "omg some people hate her! I have to make up for it with LURVE~"

I anticipate really liking Asami... as soon as we know more about her. There's no reason for me to like or hate her yet.

this is the fandom who obsessed and ranted and raved over korra for over a year over like 2 promotional pics. why so surprised?

I want character development for her so bad. This show's been awesome with a female lead so far, now show me how even the standard "other love interest" can be cool too!

Yeah, I dislike the general fandom reaction of "obviously she must be with the bad guys!" because I actually want her to join up with Korra and the group and have them all be awesome together. :D Love your icon, btw!
