The manga was a bit darker, had a lot less filler, and there was more solid character development for each character, including Chibiusa and Tuxedo Kamen--usually regarded as the most utterly useless characters in the anime, but badass in the manga. (That useless Pink Sugar Heart Attack? Yeah, that melted some monsters rather than harmlessly bouncing off like in the anime.)

I personally liked the manga better, but the anime did have several good points. I think the main issue was the filler.

I agree completely, though--I would love to see a Sailor Moon Kai or something! Shit, I'd just love to see it redubbed and put back on TV at some point so that girls from a younger generation can enjoy it the way I did.

I would like to see Mamoru and Chibiusa written closer to how they were manga. They were plain awful in the show.

Agreed!

They stood up much better in the manga, both by themselves and as valuable members of the group. I wish that dynamic had been kept in the anime. You could really see Chibiusa growing up over the course of the series, and Mamoru was actually important, rather than just popping in to throw a rose and give obvious advice before disappearing again.

(I also loved Minako a lot more in the manga. She was amazing.)

mte. I couldn't stand Mamoru in the anime (though I did sort of like Chibi-Usa in the anime, though it was overkill with her in SuperS), but I liked him in the manga and PGSM.

Well, that sounds awesome to me, especially to one day see animated (I'd love to see Tuxedo and Chibiusa be badass). I'm flipping through some manga art now and it's just so pretty (and aged extremely well). I may just read through it all, seems worth it.

Do it!

It's still my favorite manga after all these years. I've read better ones, or deeper ones, but Sailor Moon will probably be my favorite as long as I live, simply because it's brought me so much joy and taught me so much about how to be a good person.

In Portugal the show's still running. :) I love that!

Yeah! I always stick around for a few moments when I'm channel surfing and find SM (canal panda FTW). It's still so awesome after all this time.

I'm recording the show with Meo, I only missed season R. :/ But yeah, I still love it, it's just that I'm taking different things from it now. And now I have less tolerance for boring episodes. lol

Love your avatar, btw. :)

Ah, o meo não funciona mto bem na minha zona... *sadface* But I know what you mean. Even though I'm already 26, and still like it as much as when I was 10 or something, I now enjoy it for diferent reasons, and my take on the characters has also changed. Plus there's this whole feeling of nostalgia surrounding it, like other things I used to watch as a child (like Dragon Ball - I still adore GT's opening-, the Simpsons, etc).

Thanks! It's one of my favorite Disney movies. So funny.

Ahah, funny meeting you in Fandom!Secrets. We're both Portuguese AND I'm also 26. :P I don't get a lot of nostalgia from most things I used to like as a child (Dragon Ball being one of the things I used to obsess about and now I don't even bother - I do love the songs though), but Sailor Moon is the main exception to the rule. Also, Disney. ^^

O Robin dos Bosques é um dos filmes mais queridos da minha infância. :) Tenho um VHS com o filme gravado de uma vez que deu no ainda Canal 1, vê lá a antiguidade!xD Os intervalos eram tão mais curtos... *sigh*

We also have a YT channel with all the episodes dubbed in Portuguese, in case you happen to understand the language. ;)
