I think OP's main issue here is that their ex-friend is popping up literally everywhere they go. "Oh hey, a new thing I just started liking! I'ma do a quick check because I'm paranoid.... nope, no where to be found, not on this blog, or that fansite or anywhere I can find, really! I'll comment here." *three days later* "Annnnd now she's here. Again." That, on repeat, is what I think the OP was implying is going on. And that, actually, WOULD be grounds for stalking accusations if it has happened many times in unrelated fandoms/places.

Don't worry, your explaining skills are fine, it's just that first anon's reading skills that failed.
I understood the way previous anon did.

I can see both cases happening (eg people feeling stalked while it was just coincidences because they stuck in the same fandom and it got narrow, and people feeling stalked because they *are*. Fandom friends can become creepy and clingy).

But if your ex-friend pops up in every corner of the new places you found right after you get into it, it's legitimate to feel suspicious.
