I gave up on CLAMP a looong time ago

Me too. :(

And i tried, damn it! I use to be hardcore CLAMP fanatic. But theeen I got like halfway through Tsubasa and was all...WTF? and the Holic crossover, the cameos EVERYWHERE and far too much a rehashing of characters to be pleasant left me disappointed. I feel like their canon universe is far too convoluted to make sense. Yeah, i know, magic and fiction, but the "look, this person in another series! thing lost its novelty REAL fast.

That sounds annoying :| By the way, is Gate 7 any good? CLAMP is one of my early manga loves and I still read most of their stuff, even more recent works like xxxHOLiC and Kobato, but I haven't heard much about this current one.

I read a bit of it, and skimmed the rest I could find. It's ok, I like it better than I did Kobato, but that's not saying much. I kinda got pissed at it from the start, with the overly obvious Holic references.

The only way CLAMP could get me to read something by them again is if they finished X.
Though perhaps it's for the best, it wouldn't be the same if it didn't have the same art style (X is the best they've ever looked imo) and I don't trust them to make a satisfying ending. Maybe I should look for decent fic, I never really got into this fandom.

What III think is that they should allow an OVA ending for the series. That way, we don't have to worry about a sudden noodleage of the apocalypse, yet they could finally release their original ending.

An OVA, huh? I never thought about it, but that could be a pretty good idea. I always thought they might self publish the last couple of volumes, I assume they have enough money to put out a doujin without caring if it did well or not.

I could be wrong, but the artist who did X isn't even with the group anymore, is she? CLAMP is a group of several artists and writers, they don't use the same artist on every title (for example, the artist that did X did Wish and Legal Drug I believe, while another artist did Card Captor Sakura and Chobits)

Personally I like the CCS/Chobits artist but her work isn't suited to X

You are wrong (i don't mean it in a mean way). The group officially formed in 1989 -I believe- and since then they have always been the same four people: Ohkawa (the writer), Mokona (the main artist), Nekoi (the second artist) and Satsuki (the coffe girl xD). However they did change their names circa 2003/2004, to change them back to the previous ones a few years ago.
X, CCS and Chobits were drawn by Mokona, while Wish (I'm not sure about this one) and Legal Drug (this one DEFINETELY) were drawn by Nekoi. xxxHOLiC was drawn by both of them.

My CLAMP knowledge might be a bit rusty because I kinda cut my ties with them when TRC finished (I hated the "ending"), howeverI believe that everything I said was right xD

Sigh, I wish. But I'd be worried that they'd pull some giant mindfuckery on the fans with the ending like they do with everything now :C Makes me dislike them, tbh.

I miss their old works.

Yeah they lost me when they never finished X, too. Especially where it ended, it left me with the impression that all they were really interested in after all was finishing up the TB arc.

Come on ladies, if that's all you wanted to do you could have centered the series on that and it probably would have come out much better. Quota-filling the Seals and the Angels resulted it in some horribly one-dimensional characters (especially as far as the Angels are concerned.)

You know that episode of The Simpsons where Grampa Simpson and Mr. Burns and some of the other old Springfield dudes are members of the Flying Hellfish and they had a secret cache they agreed would not be opened until only one of them remained alive? I imagine something like that. The storyboards for the rest of X are stored in a safety deposit box that CLAMP has decreed not be opened until the last of them dies.

When it comes to CLAMP, I live in the days of Tokyo Babylon.

Whenever I think about CLAMP, it makes me sad. They always had some crazeball crack tendencies, but that didn't use to be ALL they produced.

Same here.

I love Cardcaptor Sakura, but after that, everything they did seemed to go flying off the rails in a very big way, and it's just been getting weirder every year since.
