It's okay not to like characters. In fact, I wasn't all that fond of Martha because she was a bit "too much super model, not enough med student" to me.
But...if I'm reading right, and, you seriously CAN'T enjoy a character because they are black, and you WON'T WATCH A SHOW because of it...then, OP, you do have issues. I could sort of understand if you were talking about attraction (because who we are attracted to is influenced by many things, and isn't always in our control). But if you can't empathize, enjoy someone's storyline or just flat out refuse to watch something because a character is a certain skin tone...c'mon, do you really believe that is not rooted in racism?
You might not actively discriminate against people in real life (which I hope you don't)...but you really should soul-search on why you have such strong feelings about characters of a certain racial group.
