2. Or it makes the super powered people look kind of silly. But, as far as I understand it, Black Widow in the comics does actually have super powers. So..yeah.

3. Really? I know a lot more about Marvel Woman than I do about Black Widow. Huh. I never thought I was outside the norm, but I suppose it's a possibility.

4. & 5. They didn't have to use her in Iron Man, and if they had a different Avenger in the movie the scene would be written differently but with the same outcome. The scene was specifically written with her character in mind because of the decision to have that character was already made - so that's kind of a really poor argument.

7. Someone can love Black Widow and think she is amazing but still question why she was involved in the first place. Full stop.

9. I have huge problems with fans that start to say any character is "flawless". Because then you're just jumping on over into stan territory.

2. I don't think so. She has "sort of" superpowers, which are implied to exist also in the movies -- she has been "enhanced" in a similar way to Cap. But to be completely fair, the only one with real, honest-to-god superpowers on the team is Thor, lol. Still, I don't agree that it makes the others look silly - it just makes her look all the more determined and badass.

3. I can't even place Marvel Woman -- could you clarify who you mean by that? Black Widow is in just about every Avengers adaptation (she holds a pretty prominent role in the popular Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon, too), and I knew about her long before I even got into Marvel comics, so... yeah. She's really iconic and well-known. Marvel Woman I think I've only heard of a couple of times, and I still can't place her -- I just keep thinking of Ms. Marvel.

4 & 5. They really did. She played a particular role in that story, which served a purpose (she was information-gathering for SHIELD so they would know whether or not to recruit Tony-- it serves a purpose both in the metaplot and the plot of that movie, and it makes a lot of sense). Introducing a different character in a role that was not as cohesive and sensible as that would take a lot more time and work, which they arguably couldn't afford to do as they still wanted the movie to focus on, well, Iron Man.

7. I suppose. But saying things like "she invites derision" (how? The phrasing here disturbs me a lot..) and that she shouldn't have been there-- I'm torn between wondering how you could say that and love her and thinking you sound like yet another upset fan whingeing about how theiiiir favorite didn't make it into the movie.

9. I'm a huge Black Widow fan. She's on my cellphone wallpaper. I loved her in the movie and felt she was flawless. It's also, you know, AN EXPRESSION. Wow.

Could you link to a page that tells us who "Marvel Woman" is because she's not coming up on Google and I don't remember her.

Holy shit, Marvel Woman is not even a character. I can't even think about your other crap, because you've made up a character, so you obviously don't know anything about comic books.
