That was such a brilliant scene. I love the way she was able to use misconceptions that Loki had about her because she was a woman in order to out-smart him.

A lot of people got upset over the mewling quim line, but I personally felt it emphasized the fact that she was playing up to Loki's expectations and then slapping him in the face with them.

What Hulk did to him physically, Black Widow did to him tactically. And given that his entire back is screwing with people's heads, that's far far worse.

I have a lot of mixed feelings on the "mewling quim" line. If it was meant to highlight how Black Widow used Loki's sexism against him to find out his plan, then the point is pretty well missed by using language that most of the audience won't understand. And then to have Joss say that he is proud of getting that phrase out to the masses... BLEGH. NO THANKS, JOSS. WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER GENDERED INSULT OUT THERE FOR PEOPLE TO USE.

I want 'quim' to come back in the victorian sense, because we need a non-ridiculous non-clinical word for vaginal secretions. The word is totally wasted as another empty gendered insult.

I dunno, I'd probably laugh my ass off if someone called me a "mewling quim." It's just so ridiculously outdated that it's impossible to take seriously. It would be like if someone yelled "YOU STRUMPET!" or "YOU SCURVY KNAVE!" or called me a slattern or something. It's like... did I accidentally wander into a historical television drama? Am I supposed to be upset that you apparently haven't learned any profanity since 1776?

But then again I'm also pretty hard to offend, so YMMV.

May well be unconnected, but have you ever ewatched the Vaginal Fantasy Hangouts on youtube? (Watch them, they're great. Felicia Day and... other people who are not Felicia Day have an online book club for vaginal fanstas books)

Episode 1 Felicia Day mentions that she has been trying to make the word Quim happen for some time now, trying to sneak it into everything she writes. I cant help but think that given the connection between Ms Day and Mr Whedon, maybe there's some explaination there?

I watched the movie 3 times now and still can't see it. What exactly did she find out that couldn't be figured out by using some common sense? Or are we supposed to work under the assumption that all the other agents of the S.H.E.I.L.D are just that stupid?
