I haven't watched the movie yet, so I'll dive right into "why not Storm?" Aside from the rights to the X-Men being owned by Fox, how in the world would they make her work in a movie that has Thor? Two people that can control the weather would be major overkill.

This exactly.

That's the big problem with trying to add more heroes--playing the balancing act. I'm not sure that Wanda isn't too powerful to work for a movie (plus, doesn't most of her power involve standing somewhere and pointing? I mean, she's fantastic, and it looks great and dramatic in a comic, but less so on film).

Pretty much the only lady I can think of who wouldn't upset the applecart too much is Wasp. Shrinking presents opportunities that you don't get with the other powers.

Also, Spiderwoman. Okay, it doesn't gel quite as well, but I love Jessica, and much as I liked Tasha and Hill, I want to see a lady with a wacky sense of humor to go along with all these wacky guys.

About Wanda, aside from the fact she's a mutant and therefore the rights are owned by Fox, I don't think she'd be too powerful, but I agree that it would be hard to make her powers work on film. She could very easily look silly, making hand gestures... It might look a bit too magical without having a good visual effect. Someone upthread suggested they might use her, making her a non-mutant and taking out Magneto, but that's just silly imo. It would make her into a new character.

I'm not familiar with Wasp, but about Spiderwoman I suppose they might be concerned she sounds like a rip-off of Spiderman, which is another company's movie franchise after all.

Yeah, that could easily be the problem with Spiderwoman. Potentially, they could just call her Jessica Drew and just have "spider-woman" be a silly nickname that Tony Stark throws at her. Heck, Hawkeye only got called Hawkeye exactly once in the movie. Same with Black Widow. They don't even say "Hulk" all that often, for various reasons.

I don't know much about Wasp either, I'm just trying to think of powers that don't overlap too much with existing characters. I'd love to see Captain Marvel show up, especially since she's got a new series and all, but she's pretty close to what Steve and Thor already have.

Yeah, we'll see. It's funny how the possible female characters seem to disappear once you cross out all the mutants, though. Marvel should really work something out with Fox.
