I'm guessing you don't know for sure what is wrong with this person. Maybe they've developed new interests or they have to get a job and they're worried about a prospective boss finding the porn. I understand if she's been posting some concerning shit, but "losing her mind" is a little bit of a stretch to make unless she sounds completely out of touch with reality.

I used to be on this forum and there was a really nice, friendly, talented lady who wanted to help everyone out with their projects and always had some really cool new idea. She wasn't a BNF because it wasn't fandom, but if it was, she would have been. I started noticing that she was saying some really strange things, "completely out of touch with reality" things, and it got worse and worse until one day she just disappeared. I really liked her, and I wish I'd even asked if she was okay.

If you think she might need it, just ask if she's okay and tell her you care about her (anonymously, if you can.) If she is, she won't need it, but if she's not, it might mean a lot. I don't know, my advice sucks.

Your advice is really helpful, I do wonder if I'm over reacting. Reading about others experiences losing touch with other fans is making me feel less absurd about it though.

I don't know if you're right or not, but don't beat yourself up for being worried. And if there's something non-intrusive-and-creepy you can do to show your support, that would be awesome. Even people who aren't overwhelmed by mental illness like to know that others appreciate them.
