Okay, opinion incoming from somebody who hasn't been a Marvel fan for very long; my friend actually got me into it via Superhero Squad of all things, and I've been taking a crash course in franchise history from her to be ready for The Avengers.

Personally, I'm surprised by the hate. Black Widow was when I started to go from "okay, this is a cool movie" to "this is AWESOME." I liked having a strong female hero who wasn't showing a lot of cleavage and was taken seriously. I didn't really care if her powers came from exposure to an odd substance or her own means.
