I never try to say negative things about AU Gundam but... I haven't really found one I liked yet. And like most Americans my age, Wing was my first Gundam and I watched it religiously on Toonami... but I was just sort of watching it because other people were. I found it kind of boring and confusing. One of these days I'll give it a rewatch though.

But anyway HELL YEAH UC MY PRIMARY FANDOM

Toonami. Everyone watching it. Boring and confusing.

Yup. That's exactly what I'm talking about. Not that UC doesn't have its boring series and WTF moments, too. But on the whole, Wing feels like a pale shade of the original.

Mostly, though, living over there gave me a whole different perspective on the Western reaction to/love for anime. I just kind of wish people here could see what it's like over there, 's'all. Completely different.

There used to be a video floating around youtube that was footage of some Japanese entertainment talk show or something, and I don't know who they polled but it was like "the 25 most popular/best anime" and my three favorite anime were in the top 5, so... apparently I like what Japanese Gen Xers like?

I actually think Lupin III (green jacket) was number one btw
