that sounds way more fun than my sleep paralysis has ever been.

though, weirdly enough, in my last episode I thought I heard my dad yelling that there were bunnies eating everything in the refrigerator.

[identity profile] smittenlotus.livejournal.com 2012-05-20 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
+1 Pretty much.

Idk, I'm a comics fan and I don't know every tiny little thing about every character in the Marvel universe, only the ones I like. So I agree with you OP and I call bullshit one anyone spouting that nonsense.

(Anonymous) 2012-05-20 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
You might possibly be the most condescending asswipe I've seen this month! Congrats!

[identity profile] cafune.livejournal.com 2012-05-20 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
libraries should have a good collection of comics, at least the major titles, and if you aren't morally opposed to getting them off the internet, there's plenty of places you can download them from!

[identity profile] butterbuns.livejournal.com 2012-05-20 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
We're not really wanky anymore.

Sometimes I miss the hey-day of that XD

[identity profile] butterbuns.livejournal.com 2012-05-20 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you could join a book club and choose never to go to the meetings either, because they're not required, but then what's the point?

[identity profile] butterbuns.livejournal.com 2012-05-20 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
How are you supposed to sort people when you know nothing about them though?

(Anonymous) 2012-05-20 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
He's not. He's at least a young adult.

(Anonymous) 2012-05-20 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
OP here. Thanks, I really appreciate this reply. I don't even admit to anyone that I like it, let alone shove it down their throats. It just makes me feel so creepy and ashamed when the people I interact with specifically to avoid the bronies are always talking about how gross it is that the porn even exists. A friend told me at one point that if she knew someone who was into it she'd think less of them. I feel like this is a rare case where the bronies are the more accepting ones, and that just makes it seem more wrong.

You do realize [livejournal.com profile] sirkate left a while ago, right?

(Anonymous) 2012-05-20 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
I can see enough to avoid bumping into things and stuff, but not well enough to distinguish individuals who aren't close. And when I'm wearing cosplay it's almost always for either Halloween or conventions, so I wanna see everyone else's costumes and the cool convention stuff, y'know?

I've never heard of someone only needing glasses for one eye. That's interesting.

[identity profile] queenoftea.livejournal.com 2012-05-20 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Evopsych is a nice way for society to assert that it's socialized values are based on SCIENCE and not its own impositions. Of COURSE women are going to value more than "just looks"! Historically, men were not a luxury resource for women the way a pretty wife would be for a man- they were a necessity for survival, beggers can't be choosers, etc.

Also, what men say they want out loud in front of people they want to impress is not necessarily what they actually want.

[identity profile] queenoftea.livejournal.com 2012-05-20 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Why do you think that is?

[identity profile] queenoftea.livejournal.com 2012-05-20 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
IDK If I'm smoking Internet crack or whatever but I think part of it is also a fantasy of achievability. And it's something girls do way more than guys. Gross-ass basement males still think they deserve a Megan Fox, but some girls will scale themselves to someone more their speed.

[identity profile] butterbuns.livejournal.com 2012-05-20 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
I <3 you, anon.

(Anonymous) 2012-05-20 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
See this is the kind of thing that has made Once-ler fandom embarrassing and unbearable for me as I've witnessed it pop up on my dash over and over. Some of you act like you're the greatest fandom of all time when most of what you do comes out of nowhere because you have hardly any canon to go on, and the whole thing comes off as forced and contrived. It's going to fizzle out like the Megamind fandom, and after the DVD is released you're going to run out of things to talk about and no one's going to care anymore.

(Anonymous) 2012-05-20 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't think it was that strange, though I do wish Cheren would've kept his to kind of dilute the whole "glasses are nerdy" thing they had by only making Bel get glasses after she became a scientist. (Although... since Cheren now runs a Gym that is also a museum, maybe it would've just been worse. 'xD) But anyway, yeah, I don't really think it's that surprising... some people change between glasses and contacts every day depending on their mood, so it just made me assume they both had poor eyesight from the beginning, but Cheren didn't want to deal with contacts while he was traveling but can wear them now that he's working indoors, and Bel always switched between glasses and contacts but wears the glasses in BW2 because her outfit in BW2 is more casual.

In full agreement, and I must say that I love your icon. The D is my Enterprise. Always has been, always will be.

[identity profile] hoopyfroodyford.livejournal.com 2012-05-20 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Well said!

(Anonymous) 2012-05-20 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you! ^.^

This! It's always bugged me, too! That was one awesome thing about Harry Potter.

[identity profile] cat-empress.livejournal.com 2012-05-20 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
I know exactly how you feel. My name is Rosalie, and one of the main reasons I own the Twilight dvd is hearing Carlisle Cullen say my name.

(Anonymous) 2012-05-20 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
I'm one of those people and I agree. This isn't going to be a fandom that sticks around for very long. I'd like it to be, but it just isn't. In a few months or less, we'll all get distracted by something else and this will have just been an exciting little blip on the radar.

It's not necessarily a horrible thing, though. I'm having fun with it now, and so are a lot of other people. Part of my excitement even comes from the fact that there's not really time to be a coolkid, you just have to enjoy it while it's still around. I think a lot of us are like that, and maybe that's why some of the louder people are acting the way they are- not because they think this will last forever, but because they know it won't.
