Sadly, you're right... the way the BBC series deals with gay issues pisses me off.

Right? I am getting tired of the everyone thinking that the two straight guys are gay and together jokes with Watson always bumbling that they're not.

At least House would have turned to Wilson, planted a big fat kiss on Wilson and said, "We're not gay. At least not on even days." And then smacked Wilson on the ass. Because House and Wilson really wouldn't care if people thought they were together. The fact that Watson gets so flustered every time the joke is made sits wrong with me. It's a cheap joke.

...My brain just supplanted 'House' with 'Holmes' and 'Wilson' with 'Watson'. Oh my fucking god, I never realized how similar their names and character dynamics were. O.O Also, I want to see that for both shows, plz&ty.

I get what you're saying, but to be fair, House and Wilson have known each other for much longer than Sherlock and John. I'm hoping by the 3rd series John won't care anymore.

That's a good point. They're known each other for, what a year? How long have House and Wilson known each other? Plus, since John lives with Sherlock, I'm willing to bet he gets the "You're such a cute couple!" type comments a lot more than Wilson or House do.

I believe they were already fairly close in the first episode, so I'd say at least 9 or 10 years. Can't remember if they ever mentioned it.

... Except for the two times that House and Wilson did get mistaken for a couple (season 2 'Hunting' and season 6 'The Down Low') and Wilson had the exact same flustered 'omg of course we're not gay!' reaction that BBC Watson has.

And then House gave up his entire life to ride off into the sunset with Wilson at the end of the series, so… really pretty gay.
