Tips on getting rid of flies inside the house? I thought about flypaper/flytraps but those are just gross

I throw out garbage/keep the kitchen clean every day, the house is immaculately clean in general, but I guess they keep flying in any time someone opens a door or a window (and I live in a hot climate so I guess insects are drawn to the inside in summer in general)

I'm just so sick of seeing them everywhere AUGH

Semi related to your secret, but I really want to out this two-faced troll of a person who I used to know but no longer speak to, but we share a lot of mutual friends.

She's incredibly false and two-faced to the people she deems to be her "friends". She'll bitch about them behind their backs, even going as far as using the word 'hate', but the next minute she'll suck up to them and even go out of her way to buy them things.

She's written hurtful fandom secrets about people in fandom, then befriended them a while down the line. WTF?

She also lies and exaggerates situations in order to make her seem like the better person and get people on her side.

It really is infuriating to see her circle jerking with all these people she claims to hate.

What should I do?

I majored in Japanese in college. One of my profs was a very intelligent man whose life work was his translation of The Tale of Genji. If you've read it English, you know how ridiculous such an undertaking is; if you've seen excerpts of the original ancient Japanese, you know why it's taken over a decade, and why I have an enormous amount of respect for this man.

Anyway, I took a seminar with him. It was very serious material, and he took it quite seriously. But that didn't stop him from taking half an hour out of class one day to talk about Final Fantasy and how it has helped the evolution of video games as a medium capable of telling deep, meaningful, intricate stories. And all of us students were nodding along, agreeing that it was totally awesome. And then we were comparing the games and talking about which ones are better in which way and why. In class. It was awesome.

Moral of the story: educators can totally be in fandom, too! It helps if your fandom has something to do with your field, but even if not, it's still cool.
