I AM STANNING FOR THE SHOW ALREADY.

I like Lucy Liu and JLM and the BBC Sherlock stans are being idiots about this show, so I am committed to supporting it (lol until it premieres- if it turns out to suck, I maintain the right to withdraw my support).

Except I've been so vocal about my excitement for this show, I'll probably love it even if it does suck. 90% actual excitement, 10% spite. Oop. I really hope it's great, though. The world needs as much Sherlock Holmes as possible as far as I'm concerned. And there are far worse adaptations (both written pastiches and filmed disasters) out there.

You know what's embarrassing? The Sherlock fans who are just bashing Elementary to kingdom come and think they are just being loyal to Cumberbatch. Especially when they bash JLM for being too whatever and not anything like Cumberbatch. It's embarrassing because Benedict is good friends with JLM. So much so that he had to make a statement asking fans to give Elementary a chance and to, please, stop being so harsh.

This is really embarassing =( And it's frustrating that a big part of fandom seems to forget that being sceptical and discussing things critically isn't the same as raging around at everything you don't like when it suits them.

This! I saw someone bash Elementary because of a picture where the "Holmes" guy is wearing a scarf and OMG that is totally copying Sherlock guys!

Because Holmes is wearing a scarf. In New York (?). During Fall/Winter/Cold weather. THE HORROR.

I'm with you! I'm actually really excited for this show and thought the preview was great. It might fall apart once it airs but I'm more than willing to give it a chance first. I'm really interested in seeing Joan as Sherlock's sober companion, tbh.
