That's not proof at all that said anon is a K/S fans.

In fact, the sentiment that they're expressing (that it's annoying when people tout their canon ship as better simply because it's canon) is one that is shared by many people across practically every fandom under the sun. Just because someone else, who happened to be a K/S shipper, expressed that sentiment in a previous post doesn't mean that the anon you're referring to is that same person or even a fan of the K/S ship. You're just jumping to conclusions here.

Also, what are you trying to say? That everyone involved in fandom must ship something? That's hardly the case. There are many people involved with fandom that actually don't ship anything. The reason that people are stating their shipping stance when they comment in these threads is because people like you assume that they must ship pairing x because they're making y statements and therefore their opinions are invalid. In addition, it is perfectly understandable why someone who is not affiliated with any ship would want to express their dislike of the pointless wank that's gripped this fandom as of late.

Why do you think I made this secret? I made it because I was sick of every Star Trek secret being about stupid ship wars or somehow managing to incite another ship war because of wanky comments made by both sides. I'm still baffled by how both the S/U shippers and the K/S shippers are so quick to condemn one another for the mean comments made by a few members of their ship. The fact is, in fandom there are always a few people that will try to ruin the experience for everyone with their nasty comments and poor attitude--just like in the real world. The point is not to let those people spread their nastiness around, which I feel has been happening as of late in the Star Trek fandom.

It's upsetting to see two groups of people--some of whom are some of my closest friends despite not having anything in common when it comes to shipping--being pitted against each other by the few mean people who want to start nothing but wank.

different nonny

Also, what are you trying to say? That everyone involved in fandom must ship something?

I think that the point here is that some people seem too overinvested to be the non shippers they claim to be.
Yes, some people don't ship and that's fine. But when people start a post that is specifically against one fan group (this is not your case here I'm talking about in general and what I've read in other threads) and they state that they ship no one and yet they obviously take one side and passionately defend one fan group just like the other shippers do then yes it seems that you're just trying to look unbiased thus validating your opinion as the most neutral one when it isn't.
I'm not disagreeing with you but I'm saying that in every fandom you also have people that can actually pretend to not be shippers while they're in fact shippers too. I see it all the time and with people commenting anon here it's even easier to do that because of course no one can open your profile and see if you ship one of those couples.

I have nothing to say against your secret because I totally agree with it.

same anon
this happened to me: I once made a fanvideo about a pair from another fandom and this girl replied to it saying that she didn't ship any couple in the show and then proceeded to talk about the flaws of my ship arguing with the other commenters saying that the fans of the other pair had valid points. I checked her profile and she didn't have shippers but she linked her secondary yt account where she uploaded her own videos and surprise surprise: she was in fact a fan of the other couple. I wish she'd just said that, bashing and all, at least it would be honest bashing.
