The thing you could be missing is that when people feel the need to preface a post/comment with "I'm from a conservative country", it's often because they're liberal and about to talk about what it's like to have rejected the conservatism they were raised with, while still living in a society that treats those prejudices as normal.

If you're back-buttoning out of there every time you see "I'm from a conservative country..." you could be missing out on talking to a lot of like-minded people.
