(Anonymous) 2012-05-25 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)Although, I have to admit that I didn't really think that Katniss was as strong in the first book as everyone seemed to make her out to be. She did, however, have this ability to steel herself, keep her priorities straight, capitalize on her (few) skills -- not to mention some serious good luck -- and survive. In the following books, those traits were seriously watered down, if not completely overshadowed to make way for the OMG LOVE TRIANGLE. I think they should have just stopped at the first book.
Also, gotta say, not a huge fan of Peeta as a character. Personally, I think the story would have been better without a romantic interest at all, but aside from that I think he's just a really, really weak character.
