I always squee over Dangan Ronpa secrets. So, for one, that art is adorable. For two, spoilers.

A case could be made for Chihiro being trans, or for not being trans--it's not explicitly stated, technically. (I doubt Monobear would be accommodating if Chihiro identified as female, he's a jerk so he'd still call her a boy in a dress.) You could say that since Chihiro's mind jumped automatically to dressing as a girl instead of compensating in some other way for being seen as weak, that could mean she (using the pronoun due to the hypothetical) was trans but not quite able to identify the feeling. That wouldn't be unprecedented.

It's something the realm of fandom, if a fandom develops for this game (which it seems to slowly but surely be doing) could explore. It might turn into a minefield, though I can see it either way. The most solidly canon interpretation would indeed be that Chihiro is male and crossdressing, but you could still argue for female identification without Chihiro actually realizing it? If that makes any sense.

Also yes, pairing is adorable and from what I see on pixiv pretty popular too.

And...well yeah, but if you couldn't ship people who killed others (or expressed desire to kill others) with their potential or actual murder victims this fandom would be shit out of luck.
