2) Saying you should only support 'canon couples' is basically saying slashers should just suck it up and start magically shipping het. More than that, you clearly don't understand that a huge part of the fun of shipping is creating the relationship from tiny bits of canon, not just like writing some porn for Edward/Bella or whatever it is that Twihards do
3) You don't get to judge every person who ships a pairing based on the tone/wankiness/ship-warring of the majority of its shippers. Saying people should just up and leave because other people are wanking is ridiculous

Also, OP, um, how is shipping different from fandom in that context? In either case I'm not going to stop liking something I like because of the other people who like it. Why...would I choose to stop liking something I like? Is that even possible? I...confuse...
