Good on you for taking the right lesson out of it, OP. I've been in that situation too, and it IS difficult to call someone out - because no one wants to come across as a fetishizing douchebag. If a room full of dudes were writing lesbian porn, and then a lesbian showed up, we'd really like for her to be able to talk about her experiences without them telling her "STFU WE DON'T CARE ABOUT REAL WOMEN". I think you and your fellow female fans were probably being courteous to this lone guy, and unfortunately, he used that as an opportunity to lord over you.
