You know you can change the layout style, right? there's tons of scripts for DW at userstyles.org.

You could have said that earlier. But yeah, it is a bit clunky compared to LJ and the change of color is just weird (also, I have a habit of closing comment threads and not being able to do so here kinda throws me off.)
