damn. I think the fact that there are already 779 people watching this comm pretty solidly negates all the people saying that fs was going to die. True, it's way less than the number of people watching it on lj but as it's already been said, there's no knowing how many of those accounts are active any more.

I feel the same way, actually. 800ish people is an huge number of active accounts watching a fannish community, especially on DW. It's tiny compared to 14000, but that's 14000 over 5 years, with dead LJs and RP accounts and spambots and stuff - compared to 800 in about two days.

Man, I was expecting like 200-300 (seemed to be about that many people active, + lurkers and people without LJs) and am really surprised at the turnout! I remember FS being active with 80 people, with 10x that number it should be perfectly fine.

it's definitely a good sign that it accumulated that number so quickly! Nobody panic, everyone back to your stations, etc etc.
