What's the big deal? IMO fandom friends generally aren't real friends, so as long as you tell people that you're leaving and don't just drop off the face of the earth and make people worry if you've died or something, then I don't see the problem here. It's perfectly normal to stop being interested in an artist after a while. Anyone who claims they're going to be a fan of whoever for life is probably 14 and doesn't know any better.

better than ditching your rl friends all the time...which is what i do.

Honesty up front helps a lot, like a note on your profile: "Hi, I have fandom ADD, and will wander between fandoms without realizing that I've left people behind. If I do that to you, I wish you well, and maybe we'll meet again in another fandom someday."
