This amused me far more than it should have.

NGL: learning to touch type is a grind, but I gotta say, being able to rattle off 60 wpm without ever looking at my fingers has made writing fic a lot easier. Especially when I watch my husband who still two finger types and ends up swearing at his keyboard every time he has to go back and fix an error, which is often.

If I were ever to learn to touch-type, that's the way I'd do it. Except probably with quotes from something else because I've never played Portal. :B

Remember when the platform was sliding into the fire pit and I said "Goodbye" and you were like "No way!" And then I was all "We pretended we were going to murder you?" That was great!

Good idea OP.

I have a clip of the turrets saying "Hellooo? Are you still there?" for my BF's ringtone. Cracks me up every time :)

Look at you, sailing through the air majestically. Like an eagle...piloting a blimp.

Man, I am so glad touch typing was the way I originally learned to type. I feel like it would be so much harder to learn if you had learned to type a different way previously.

Same here. Switching to one hand or a few fingers is easier than the other way around.

The only real drawback I ever had was that I learned to type in a typewriter and when I switched to a computer keyboard I pressed the keys too hard and was scolded for it. :x
kikkyo: please let me know if you know who made this (inuyasha)

Tbh I learned through chatting with friends on aim back in the day. Some of them were so much faster than me and I had to work to keep up with them, but I just stuck with it. It gets easier with practice. Glad you found something that works for you.

Good for you anon!
I learned by playing Typing of the Dead.
