Cynical party pooper: people want fandom to be empowering, but honestly that's not what it's supposed to do, and it often does the exact opposite.

But, back to the point. As many other people said, you don't have to "come out" or anything like that. I'm bisexual, but I don't really announce it anywhere, nor is it a big part of my life. If it comes up in a conversation, it comes up, but otherwise it's not relevant.
