My girlfriend was much like this. I gave her all the time in the world with no pressure, fell in love before we did anything intimate, treated her like the perfect girl she was and, eventually, she felt safe enough to share that side of her. I hope someone is as kind to you.

This is just my impression, but I think that this is the sort of "problem" that you solve through learning to trust a loving partner -one that does deserve your trust, of course-, not so much about the sex itself.

I don't really like Nikita (he's kind a jerk), but I kind of agree with this. At the same time, there are few things I hate as much as the feeling of being "coaxed" like I'm a skittish colt or something. But it comes right back to that vulnerability thing you're talking about. I wouldn't want anyone like Nikita, but I hope I can find the right sort of person one day.
