Everyone has hobbies, OP, and some of the happiest and most well-adjusted adults I know are in fandom to some degree or another. I bet if you stop and think about the hobbies your friends engage in, you'll realize they're just as ridiculous and childish as fandom is. And that's okay, because hobbies are kind of ridiculous and childish by nature, because hobbies are just grown-up playtime.

As an aside, everyone I know had trouble adjusting in their mid-20's, myself included. I can't promise it will get less confusing for you, because everyone's life is different, but I can tell you it got less confusing for all of us.

roleplaysecrets probably would have been a better home for this, since it would have gotten you more specific feedback.

That said, go for it! I can guarantee you at least one rper who's familiar with that series and even then, part of the fun of rping is learning about characters from fandoms you know nothing about.

Make that journal, post around to bakerstreet or find a game with a premise you like and go for it!

Some people might be jerks, but most of us still remember how it felt when we were brand new too. You'll be okay.

I've never read or seen this movie but I've heard that all the boys end up fucking the one girl while they're all like 12. Which is why I've never seen or read the story, even though obviously it wouldn't be graphic. I hope.

While I agree with you OP that LoK doesn't have a lot of the same magical qualities that A:tLA had and I totally agree about the shipping, Bryke purposefully had LoK take place in Republic City so they could differentiate Korra from the original series. (I currently don't have a link in order to prove that right now, sorry. :/)
