I'm actually really disturbed by the complete change in morals. I get that the Avatar isn't the same person as Aang was, but it feels like Korra has nothing in common with the Avatar and doesn't use her bending for any good. I love that she's strong and more into the physical aspects of bending, but the message seems to be that benders should rule the world and nonbenders should be okay with not being equal. I dunno, it's just so muddled. I can't honestly see Amon as a bad guy.

Except that's... pretty clearly not the message? Korra's been raised very sheltered, so she's unaware of what things are like for nonbenders in places like Republic City and clearly doesn't really think about the huge influence benders have over nonbender lives. Last episode really shook up that worldview, however -- or it should have, anyway. We'll see.

Spoilersssss

How does she not use her bending for any good? She was pretty much ready to squish those oppressing the non-benders last episode. The only reason she didn't is because they took her friends captive. In earlier episodes she vowed to stop Amon BECAUSE she was the Avatar and that's her duty. She didn't realize before then that the non-benders genuinely had a reason to be upset at the benders. In either case she was ready to protect those that were the victims at the time.

I can't honestly see Amon as a bad guy.

Really? I was actually looking forward to having a hard time seeing Amon as a bad guy, and it just hasn't happened for me. Before the most recent episode, we only saw 2 possible cases of nonbenders being oppressed: the triads/gangs and the all-bender city council. A third throwaway moment sort of alluded to it, with either Bolin or Mako making the argument that the probending arena was (one of the?) only places that benders and nonbenders could hang out together. However, the most rampant oppression we've really seen has been very recently, with Tarrlok making a power-grab using Amon's actions as an excuse.

Amon, meanwhile, has steadily decreased in complexity. He started out with rhetoric about "equality" that would have been convincing but now he's not even trying: it's all "removing the bender impurity" and outright attacking benders and nonbenders alike. Up until the last episode, the evidence from what we've seen in the show leaned more heavily in favor of "nonbenders not really oppressed, Amon is Hitler-evil."
