I think the secret applies non-romantically too. An an ideal world, Coulson would have gotten to know Cap more and the unrealistic awe-worship would have time to wear off and they could just be regular friends.

Okay, I love Coulson, and I like reading fics with him, but yeah, not shipped with Steve. There's just too much of a hero-worship thing going on, and it kind of freaks me out.

The internet may have ruined me with Clint/Coulson, though. It's hard for me to picture another ship for him, even though it makes no freaking sense.

I haven't been very involved in reading Avengers fanfic, but the idea of Coulson/Cap is something I love. It's just so cute! And damn straight; Son of Coul deserves happiness!

It's okay. Really. He's just secretly recovering over in the Spiderman cartoon's universe, ensuring the youth of TOMORROW get the bestest education.

Shh. I want to believe ;____;

You and me both, babe. Hell, I'd settle for Son of Coul even getting his damned trading cards signed. :( He worked hard on that collection, dammit!

I'm one of those that absolutely refuses to believe Fury. Can't. Won't. Totally not canon to me.

I saw it again today and even though it was my 3rd time seeing it I felt the most emotional for Phil than I had in previous movies. <3

i didn't really care for his death until tony got all shaken about it, so if coulson makes a miraculous come-back to have a happily ever after with cap, i hope he hangs out with tony and pepper a bit.

Did anyone else notice the serious case of the "not gays*" they gave Coulson so his crush on Cap would look, well, not gay? There were several instances were he or other characters mentioned his ~~Canadian girlfriend~~ offscreen female love interest. It was kind of weird.

Does anyone know what's up with shipping Coulson/Hawkeye? Is that a spillover from the comics or a case of pairing the spares with penises (as in, spare slashing (?)). I didn't think they had as much chemistry as the amount of fic for the pairing would suggest. I'm not hating, just curious.

I can't ship Coulson with anyone. He's too cute, but he doesn't have angsty issues (like Steve). Unless you count being dead an angsty issue. :)
