Thank you for that link. It isn't fun reading, but it's definitely a good guide for spotting abusive situations.

Yeah, I found it yesterday and was using it to reality-check; at least 5 of those things were present in my parents' relationship and I keep saying 'but it's like the five least bad things on the list so I guess it wasn't abusive - wait, no, it was.'

Further to OP: please try and get your child out of that situation. Your child will always love you but they will not be happy if they have to look back and ask why you didn't leave that jerk.
