I feel you, op. I don't really do literary characters, but I love to fill out stat sheets about think up campaigns in my head, and I've always been depressed about my inability to find people to play with. Now that I have a family, I feel like I should just give up.

Look up 'impostor syndrome', OP.

Especially as it sounds like you want to 'be' the person you are online (HINT: YOU ALREADY ARE THAT PERSON. IT IS YOU. WHO ELSE WOULD IT BE?) it just sounds like you're suffering from anxiety and low self-esteem. You're seeing your shadow in bitchy rant posts because you're worried about what kind of person you are.

It might take more growing time and self-care and maybe a few big life changes, but you ARE the person your online friends know and when you meet them IRL at last they are going to love you just as soon as you chill out and start talking to them.

I've been having the same problem lately, I've never seen a couple (gay or straight) with so much CHEMISTRY. I don't wish for the trauma it would cause their wives/families, but I keep rooting for them to end up together regardless.

I used to do that. I later created a real account for my second fandom, met a few likeminded individuals (we think canon is laughably bad and the fandom is even worse but we just can't get over it) and started a capslocky lol comm. It's so, so much more fun than just trolling alone, and because it's the kind of fandom where 'lol' is the only intelligent attitude, we've basically gathered everyone in the fandom who DOES write good fic in one place to enjoy ourselves together. I would highly recommend you do something similar, OP.

There's shades of grey to everything. Obviously racism is bad, sexism is bad, etc. Agreeing with that, even if you personally find the tone of the person pointing out the -ism to be unpleasant, just means you're a half-decent person with some logical reasoning skills.

If it's a real possibility, yeah, kick your husband out.

That's a vicious cycle of

being abused -> giving up and believing the abuse -> trying to change -> being abused -> giving up and believing the abuse

that makes everything seem more negative, more hopeless than it is in reality.

It sounds like you need your parents' help, at least for now, but if your husband isn't cooperating or helping or anything, then there is no loss in cutting him out of your life. (but research the legality of the consequences first, to check if there could be any)

Try to get to the situation where you no longer need to rely on people who don't care for you, and where you can keep your son away from their influence.

You can do it, OP. Don't believe that you can't.

If you can find an anonymous solution (a support internet community, maybe?) go for that.

Don't try to normalize it or encourage it by justifying it to yourself, or by seeking out other people who feel the same way. That will only make it harder to stop.
