If you actually try and talk to them and they sit there going 'na na na I won't listen', yea, I can understand freaking out on them a little. But you made it sound like you put more effort into insulting them then trying to do something productive. Which is what SJW do. They want to bully someone or use someone as a punching bag.

That's the whole thing we're talking about here, so when you show up to defend their behavior and their favorite 'I'm not going to educate you at all' ideals, I'm going to think you act like them.

It's funny, kind of, because both Kittybeard's and other-anon's replies are perfectly illustrative of their positions in their argument. You don't even have to closely read what either is saying. The anon defending their right to call people names and get angry is...getting angry, using ALL CAPS, swearing, and has squarely set themselves up as An Opponent Out To Win. Kittybeard advocates patience and politeness, and has patient and polite posts without capslock and swears.

Okay, but don't you think that treating every person who makes a real, imagined, serious, or minor infraction of social justice (according to you) as the same person is EXACTLY what racists, homophobes, and misogynists are doing when they're painting an entire minority with the preconceived stereotypes of one person that they've encountered, seen, or heard about? It's really unfair to automatically not give people a chance just because of your personal experiences with the type of person that you THINK they are. This attitude is exactly the same basis that bigots use to be prejudiced against entire groups of people that they've never even met before.

..No. I'm trying to tell you that it's inappropriate to treat every single person, no matter what the transgression, as though they're the exact same as the worst racist/misogynist/rape apologist/homophobe you've ever seen. Everybody is different and treating everyone the same because you've seen some other asshole (no matter what they did wrong) say or do something comparable in the past is just as bad as those people who judge others based on nothing but their race, gender, or sexuality. i.e. railing on someone for using the word "gyp" even though they didn't know the etymology of the word just because you've seen some racist asshole use it in the past, and then just assuming that this person is also clearly a racist dick for using it.

Just popping up to say I agree with everything I've seen that you've written on this thread, because you getting a bunch of comments all saying "+1" and "THIS" would probably get old after a bit ;)
