If you can find an anonymous solution (a support internet community, maybe?) go for that.

Don't try to normalize it or encourage it by justifying it to yourself, or by seeking out other people who feel the same way. That will only make it harder to stop.

I don't want to start the same old dance and song that pops up whenever the "but they're fictional / think of the fictional children" argument starts, but this is an actual real life child, not just a drawing.

(And I would argue that, even if "they're only drawings", that's still trying to normalize the idea of pedophilia, intentionally or not. Plus porn drawings used to groom children by real pedophiles, blah blah blah.)

I also think it really depends on how old OP is - if they're 15 they might still be identifying with younger people themselves, and there objectively isn't that much difference. They might still grow out of it/not be a pedophile.

If they're 30, it's probably another story.

You can still identify with younger people even as an adult.

The idea that you can't is preposterous to me and is something I will never, ever understand. Children and adults aren't THAT fundamentally different that you can't identify at all with their personalities!

Then again, I can relate to someone without there being any sexual aspect to it, so... maybe I'm just not the norm.

Adults who identify with children on a sexual level are generally pedophiles. A lot of pedophiles aren't out to maliciously control kids, they just mentally and sexually identify with younger kids and so think being attracted to younger kids is ideal/normal for them.

You can identify with all personalities and ages, yes, but trying to inject that argument into a discussion about pedophilia is kind of derailing and wrong. It reads as justifying pedophiles and making excuses for them.

Understandable. It's hard sometimes in F!S to keep the overall context of discussions in mind, because replies and conversations can just veer off or get out of control.
