Exactly.

People who aren't bigots and don't love to use slurs and be racist, sexist, etc.? Don't care so bloody much about defending the use of slurs and racism, sexism, etc. They don't care so much about putting down and silencing people who point out, call out and make noise about slurs, racism, sexism, etc.

Oh, I dunno. I never really used those words out of politeness, but hoshit do I hate the language police telling me I can't ever use them. Some of the language policing has gotten ridiculous to the point of it being frightening. I mean, context does have a purpose.

To my somewhat shame, I've noticed myself trying to use some of the bad, bad words more and more in situations where context is an issue, mostly to sort of assert my right to say whatever I want in my free danged country, dammit.

Yeah, uh, you shouldn't ever use those words. They are SLURS and they are actively hurtful to people. So unless you really decide you want to hurt people -- not even people you're mad at, just people in the vicinity, even if you just WANT to hurt one person... don't use them. Period.

And you should be ashamed of that, fuck. Your speech may be free, but it can also hurt people. Using those words all the time should be something you're shamed for. You hurt people when you use those words.

You have the right to say whatever you want. That doesn't mean that there are no consequences to saying things, only that the government won't prevent you from saying them. Other people are just as free to say things in response.

i've never seen anyone trying to stand up for their right to use words like "fag", "retard", or "nigger". the vast majority of people i see who disagree with SJWs are disagreeing based on their conduct: they're stranding up for their right to NOT be stalked and insulted for months at a time based on something as petty as their association with somebody who used the word "lame".

In the livejournal community talk_politics, maybe a month ago, a frequent user wrote a post about how he (a white, straight cis man) was proud to use words like f*g, n****er, r*tard, c*nt, etc.

People who called him a racist, homophobe, or anything of the sort were punished by the moderators for "name calling".

I've frequently been involved in arguments in childfree and other, related communities where people have stood up for their right to call women "b*tches," "sl*ts," "c*nts" and other slurs.

These are by far NOT the only instances of this shit I've seen even just on Livejournal, so just because you don't see it... don't assume it doesn't happen.

The people I've seen "disagree" with so-called "SJWs" have been bigots defending their right to say bigoted shit about people with impunity. I have NEVER seen anyone protesting merely the situation you're describing. Ever.
