This is what infuriates me most of all about my SJW friends. They start speaking out about issues that affect them, and that's fine. But then, for example, my white cisfemale friend will start screaming at someone for a "racist" or "transphobic" remark, and I'm like "-.- this is one of those times when you being mean is actually hurting the cause."
Going to bring it up next time it happens, and hopefully, the answer isn't another "I'M NOT GOING TO TONE DOWN WHO I AM" because I'd really hate to have to guilt her with "this isn't your issue".

This is why, as much as I know I should just wash my hands of these fights, I feel compelled to look around when I see one happening, so that if someone says that, I can jump in and say "you might not, but I do; please ignore this person, they do not represent all of us, they are speaking out of anger and hatred and are saying to you all the things they want to say to the person who actually hurt them." I'm sure I'd be called an "apologist" or something for this, but I don't care. I don't expect some of them to understand what being nice is because maybe nobody's shown them any kindness.

I cringe so hard when I see that. We need to stop using that phrase. Is it your job then, to police people? Shame them and belittle them? So you're saying you want them to learn, but you don't want to start them off? And if you really are that tired, you could simply not answer. That's another thing about that phrase- apparently they have no problem telling the person every little thing that they said was wrong, but telling them how to do it right? "You mean to educate positively." Of course, there's the danger than someone might learn something. Suppose everyone learned something? Soon there'd be nothing to be furious about.

I wondered about that a while ago, and it was terrifying. Wondered what it would take to make them stop being so angry, what it would be like if they had absolutely nothing left to complain about. The conclusion was that if magically, every position of power was inverted over night, the SJWs would be on WOR talk radio screaming about how the "mascunazis are trying to take over" and how "President Derpina is a secret Catholic bleeding heart who wants to enforce mandatory baptism in schools" and "those perverts want to start a campaign for prostate exams with some made up facts about how prevalent prostate cancer is" and people would be on the forums accusing others of being Woman Apologists and Womansplaining and jumping on each other for using "misandrist phrases like malevolent and dick".
Could you kinda see how the people who are most outspoken and rude would be the Rick Perrys and Rush Limbaughs and Pat Robbinsons of that Bizzar-o world rather than the ones saying "look, I'm a woman and I still believe you should have equal rights."?
