Okay, let's have it out. Who's the craziest troll to ever troll? What fandom has the craziest or highest percentage of trolls?

there are some pretty crazy ones on tumblr

it's like it amplifies craziness

possibly because there is so little time between submitting something and it appear on the net

leads to impulsive posting

plus the reblogs

i don't think highly of tumblr's enabling aspect, is what i'm getting at

House MD had the most douches per square inch of any fandom that I've ever seen. Many outright trolls crying for attention, plus tons of over exalted fic writers who *aren't* that good but think they are writing literary masterpieces (they even have a little hall of fame for them to pat one anthers backs with).

Not to mention the ridiculous amount of rabid wannabe SJWs who want to make themselves feel powerful by howling privilege or misogynist at anyone who gets close to them regardless of the words used.

I left that fandom years ago but it still makes me shudder just thinking about the wank and the horrible people who made it up.

I was around during the absolutely batshit insanity that was HP fandom back in the day. I'm afraid for humanity if there are crazier trolls than those.

Yeah, I've been in fandoms that had crazy, including some that are considered incredibly wanky (Supernatural, I'm looking at you), but nothing has been as crazy as early 00's HP.

I've only heard a few tales, but what exactly was it like, back then? I was late to the party by about a decade. D:

Plus the whole GT meltdown (mentioned in the Msscribe write up, with a link to the f_w entry).

Plus so many different wanks (especially over pairings) they eventually made a f_w offshoot for just HP wank. (Sorta, was more complicated than that).

For a while, every single day on my FL there was someone blowing up over something, it seemed like. And even though it was a huge fandom, it was really centered on LJ, so you didn't have to go far to run into stuff.

I truly don't know why it was so wanky. Perhaps because the BNFs were so widely known, and connected to actual archives? So they felt more like 'official' BNFs, somehow. Or perhaps it's because it was big right during the move from mailing lists to communities, so more people could comment and have conversations, but others were expecting the more singular responses, like in mailing lists? Or maybe there were a lot more shit-stirrers. :P /musings
