iirc that's that character's wife (before he was assimilated by an alien parasite and whatnot). (Just looked it up -- yeah, she's pretty much like, "Get ready for work, dear, it's time to eat" and he's all "EAT???" and then that happens... Their attacks are shown to be quite quick later on, too, so I think it's dramatic slow-mo since this is the first big reveal.)
